Völkl Technology (09/10)
Völkl kept their existing technological solutions, but it also prepared something completely new for this season - Bio Logic technology.

-.--.-"Prevention does not start when you put the skis on, but when they are being produced." This is a slogan Völkl uses for presenting their new Bio-Logic technology which reduces the risk of knee injuries. Working together with sports doctors, physiotherapists and athletes, they have developed a technology that enables safe and pleasant skiing with less stress on the knees and an equal burden on all the leg muscles. The technology differs in male and female models because female anatomy is more susceptible to vibrations in skiing. Bio-Logic comes in three forms: Bio-Logic Stance is the position of the feet in which the fingers are lightly higher than heel, thus 'forcing' the skier to the position that optimally burdens the knee. As a result, skiing becomes more successful and less tiring.

-.--.-Models equipped with Bio-Logic Geometry technology have narrower tail, which means their radius is smaller in front of the bindings and bigger behind them. This enables fast and agile start of a new turn, which makes skiing more harmonic and precise, and is less tiring for the skier. The stiffness of the ski together with Bio-Logic Geometry and Stance system results in a ski that preserves energy, at the same time not losing its performance. Bio-Logic Flex helps girl skiers to make nicely shaped turns at higher speeds more easily.

Völkl stayed faithful to Power Switch technology which made it possible for a skier to adapt to skiing condition by a simple turn of the switch. The same as last season, there are three modes. The Cruise mode, in which the ski has less flex, gives it the necessary flexibility for "easy cruising" on not so hard packed snow. If you go with the Power mode, the carbon sticks inside the ski stiffen, making it more aggressive and excellent for skiing on hard packed snow.-.--.- The Dynamic mode is a golden mean between Power and Cruise modes; it activates 50% of the system's power and provides for a balance between the flex and energy, which makes the ski suitable for various conditions on the trails. Power Switch technology is implemented into Tigershark and Racetiger ranges, and into Grizzly model.

The Motion system with its versions was this season broadened with iPT Speedride, which is a novelty by Marker and Völkl, similar to last season's iPT Wideride, but intended for models whose width is between 70 and 79 mm. It results in better and more precise edge grip and more stable ski.

Apart from these novelties, Völkl kept their successful solutions such as Double Grip XTD, Power Grip, Double Grip LT and Power Shell.

Wooden core continues to be the base of Völkl skis. The toughest models are strengthened using titanium for greater stability and to lessen the vibrations on the ski and the skier's legs. Apart from this version, some Völkl skis are constructed using different versions of core construction, depending on the models, which haven't quite changed compared to the last season.

The bindings have undergone changes in terms of design and technology. Marker and Völkl together design the best combinations for respective skis. The greatest improvement is the Bio-Logic stance mentioned at the beginning of this article.
