-.-Skijanje.hr-.-Ladies models for 09/10 season can, roughly put, be categorized as skis intended for groomers, and those that should perform well in all conditions, whether we speak of groomed trails, worn out snow, or untouched, pristine snow. The former group is represented by already well known models; Vapor, Breeze, Exhale and Pure, and the letter comprises models that were introduced this year under the name Koa.

The Koa range is recognized by somewhat wider waist, that, depending on the model, goes from 73 to84 mm. Waist width is at the same time a part of the model's name; Koa hus comes in four variants: Koa 84, Koa 78, Koa 75 and Koa 73. First two models coming in black color, especially Koa 84, are intended for more experienced skiers who are into deep snow. The two weaker models come in white color and are designed for a wider range of lady skiers who don't necessarily need to be in top ski shape. This time we got to test the weakest Koa model, Koa 73, which strongly reminds of no longer existent Fuse range. Its features are very similar to features of the model called Fuse 70, which we got to test last year.

In ideal conditions, that is, on nicely groomed slopes, the ski proved an excellent companion for recreational lady skiers who are not seeking for a too-aggressive model. It is very calm and obedient, and wont pose you troubles in making turns. Also, it doesn't require too much effort or strength, which makes it a great choice for relaxed whole day skiing. Considering its relatively small radius for its class, Koa 73 will allow you making both somewhat shorter and somewhat longer turns. However, it may pose you problems on hard packed and icy slopes; it is not intended for such conditions, and its edges, although with a solid grip, cannot compete with those used with stiff models designed exclusively for the slopes covered in artificial or icy snow.

At higher speeds the ski acts solid and it proved stable. However, if you speed up on a steeper and more ice packed slope you could find yourself unpleasantly surprised - this is a ski with a relatively soft flex and during fast ride vibrations get too strong which makes pleasant skiing impossible. But, it was to be expected since this is the weakest model in the range and is not intended for speeding down the slopes. However, despite rather strong vibrations, Koa 73 proved very safe and stable during a turn.

Koa performs very well in conditions that pose problems for most lady models. Clusters of worn out snow, soft snow and bumpy ski runs won't be a problem for this ski; it will confidently flow across such a terrain and, which is maybe the most interesting to its targeted buyers, it doesn't ask for too much strength. Interestingly enough, most Fischer lady models this year are not available in sizes over 160 cm, which is a pity since taller skiers might need a bigger ski, especially if they're into skiing off the groomed slopes.

-.-Skijanje.hr-.-Koa 73 is a great choice for all skiers seeking lightweight and calm skis for relaxed skiing. This ski will safely take them down the slope and won't ask for much of their strength. Also, it performs well in somewhat softer and worn out snow. This ski is not tailored for complete beginners, nor for very experienced skiers. But it will definitely find its devotees among lady skiers who know how to ski and like doing it in a relaxed way.
