Coming from the direction of Trento, a sight of the Valcamonica valley opens just as you pass over the Passo Tonale on 1883 m . On its very beginning, northeast of Lago di Garda and on the border of the Lombardy region, there are Pontedilegno and Temù villages linked by road and ski slopes.

The ski resort has 100 km of slopes, but only since 2006, when a link with the neighboring Passo Tonale - Presena ski resort was made. The Pontedilegno resort significantly profited from the link, not only in terms of number of slopes, but also because it can now offer its guests summer skiing at the Presena glacier and freeriding on Passo Tonale. The link was realized by a long cabin lift Pontedilegno-Colonia Vigili-Tonale. The trip takes about 15 minutes and the lift is open for the local population giving them a safe and fast transportation service between two villages. So, don’t be astonished if you find school children or housewives after shopping in your cabin.

-.--.-The ski resort offers a completely different appearance from the neighboring Passo Tonale. While the latter lacks any vegetation, here the slopes are built in the heart of dense evergreen forest which provides beautiful winter atmosphere and offers sufficient wind protection. All slopes have northern exposure which guarantees the long retention of snow while the preparation is excellent every morning. Slopes and lifts above Temù are newly constructed - in 2005 four new 4-seat chair lifts and associated slopes have been built to connect Temù with Pontedilegno.

Advanced skiers will enjoy a demanding black run Temù that descends to the village (the only way back!). In combination with the Croce red run it makes up a decent, 3 km long slope with 785 m of altitude difference. Also,2.7 km long Corno d'Aola black run should not be missed. The rest of the ski resort consists mostly of red runs, not overly long, but with interesting configuration. The ski resort is a bit more dynamic compared to Tonale that lies mostly on one hill. In general, the slopes on this resort are more appropriate for experienced skiers while Passo Tonale will please the beginners.

-.--.-You can spend some active time outside the slopes, too. Ski mountaineers can head to the nearby Pisgana glacier from where they can take a marked off-piste route. A daily ski pass for ski mountaineers is on offer, costing only 14 Euros and valid on specific ski lifts. By Using those lifts, it is possible to easily get to Pisgana, ski down the route and return back to the starting point. Snowshoeing and walking are also very popular here. There are several kilometers of cross country slopes. In the center of Pontedilegno there is a skating rink and swimming pool for evening sporting activities. Nearby are also all the other essential services, such as ski schools, shops, ski services, skipass offices, ski rents...

-.--.-Village of Pontedilegno is much more eye pleasing than the village of Passo Tonale. Most of the houses are situated on the sunny hillside, owned by well-suited Milan families who come here for winter holidays. As for the après-ski and night entertainment, head to Passo Tonale. Prices of food and drinks in the ski resort are favorable; pastas cost about EUR 7, main courses around EUR 10, coffee and hot chocolate around EUR 2.50. Menus are built on local specialties of pasta and game meat. Capanna Valbione restaurant should not be missed. Basking in the sun and admiring a frozen lake can be a nice way to spend time after lunch.

-.--.-Six-day ski pass which is valid for Passo Tonale, Presena and Pontedilegno costs EUR 143 (EUR 166 in high season). The ski resort is a part of Skirama Dolomiti Adamello Brenta carousel, for which six-day ski pass costs EUR 184 (EUR 208 in high season) and is valid on 380 km of slopes. It is possible to purchase skipass for Passo Tonale-Pontedilegno with a day of skiing at nearby ski resorts. Children up to eight years accompanied by parents ski for free.

Pontedilegno is easily reachable from Italian A22 highway going from Modena to Innsbruck. After the San Michele all'Adige exit there is about 70 km to the village. Coming from the west A4 highway (Turin - Trieste) can be taken with exit at Ospitaletto and then continuing on local roads for about 100 km. Nearby are also the airports of Verona and Bergamo with organized to/from shuttle service. Also, you can take advantage of not too distant airports of Venice and Milan.

Pontedilegno is a nice ski resort with a very beautiful landscape dominated by forests, mountain streams and lakes. It is a pleasure to spend a day skiing here as a supplement to linked Passo Tonale or the nearby resorts of Folgarida-Marilleva, Madonna di Campiglio, Andalo...
